Designed for the advanced student, the Advanced Iraqi Reader (AIR) helps learners progress from an Intermediate to an Advanced proficiency level. The reader contains 35 selections of authentic readings in Arabic script on a wide variety of political, economic, social, and literary topics. Each selection includes a transcription in a modified version of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), an audio recording, a vocabulary list with English translations, and notes about linguistic and cultural features. A comprehensive glossary is included, along with English translations of each selection.
